I watched it recently and it's quite enjoyable. Ooh! The opening soundtrack is so mesmerising

Without knowing for certain, it was probably due to one or more of these reasons:

1. Low ratings

2. Only 13 episodes were originally ordered by NBC

3. Inability to find/sign sponsors

4. Too expensive (SFX) to produce
