This series, and a whole lot of Filmation's other shows, will be released on DVD in 2007.

It is mentioned in the liner notes of Ark II, along with Jason of Star Command, Space Academy and Legend of Isis. No word on which order they'll be released in.

I have THE GHOST BUSTERS on DVD and I'm lovin' it and recommending it to everybody.

I have a five-year-old son who loves watching F TROOP with me and so I knew GHOST BUSTERS would be a hit, and it's a bigger hit than I anticipated with both of us. I think watching the old SCOOBY DOO cartoons set us up to really enjoy this, which in some ways is a live-action version, with the graveyard and castle sets right down to and including the suit of armor.

Storch and Tucker are having a great time, Bob Burns as Tracy is living out his dream and you can't help but get caught up in the enthusiasm of everyone involved.

I've only watched the special features and the first couple episodes at this point and already I've seen Billy Barty and the "Big Butt" janitor from GOOD TIMES doing an inspired take-off on Greenstreet and Lorre from THE MALTESE FALCON, then Bernie Koppell playing Dr. Frankenstein and basically reprising his Siegfried character from GET SMART. Already I feel like I more than got my money's worth.

I thank God for Ink & Paint and the love and reverence they have for these old shows. This GHOST BUSTERS DVD was put together with more special features, trivia, behind-the-scenes pix and trailers for other nostalgia classics like ISIS and even more creative menu screens than was given to shows like ALL IN THE FAMILY. Great show and a great DVD package.

Ink and Paint which seems to own the distribution rights for Filmation's catalogue (both live action and animated), have really done an excellent job with all of the releases that've come out so far. I think one of the biggest things that helps is the fact that they've got as much of the original Filmation creative team possible to be very closely involved with everything. They're without a doubt taking a lot of time and care, wanting the stuff to be well preserved for the future. Having not seen this in AGES, (And I never expected to see it again, let alone get a DVD release), it's well worth the money. Granted my purchase of the set was originally for nostalgia reasons, the series really has held up well.

That's enough rambling on my part.

I just started watching my DVD. The transfer to DVD is absolutely gorgeous! It literally looks like they shot this last week! What a walk down memory lane. I haven't seen this show since it was on Saturday mornings...33 years ago. It's just as silly and kid-friendly as I remember.
