This series, or Joe Forrester?

I used to watch this when I was about nine years old. There was a competing show about a beat cop on another network called Joe Forrester, starring Lloyd Bridges.

I don't recall much about either show except that I VASTLY preferred Joe Forrester. I haven't been able to see either show since. I think The Blue Knight was more popular with audiences, but I was definitely a Joe Forrester fan.

I was wondering if anyone who remembers watching both these shows might give me some insight about the differences and allow me to realize why Joe Forrester was so much more appealing to me.
