Thank you for posting this! I was going to make note of it too, but real life got in the way.
Around 1973 I recall while buying winter boots in a college town in central Illinois discussing with the shoe store clerk (we were both young women, not yet 20) whether the Russians were responsible for the colder winters. LOL!
