Really the Best Show on Television....

...for that time period. I'd love to have all the DVD's and see it all over again.

But I think 8 years was enough. That's just the right amount of time for the run.

IMO, Barney Miller is the best comedy ever on TV. I have all of BM on DVD. It never gets old.

Barney Miller and Newhart(before we were inundated with TOO MUCH Michael and Stephanie) were always my favorites.

I dearly love MASH, but I'd rate Barney Miller even above it as being the absolute best ensemble comedy series of all time. I don't think anyone will ever duplicate the unique quality of this show.

For some reason a ton of TV shows set in NYC (a lot not filmed there) are really good. I Love Lucy, The Honeymooners, Taxi, Barney Miller, The Odd Couple, Seinfeld, etc. Didn't include Friends because I've never watched an episode.

No! That's not true at all, Elvis takes 50% of everything I earn!
