IMDB Message Boards To Be Disabled

IMPORTANT: IMDb is the world's most popular and authoritative source for movie, TV and celebrity content. As part of our ongoing effort to continually evaluate and enhance the customer experience on IMDb, we have decided to disable IMDb's message boards on February 20, 2017. This includes the Private Message system. After in-depth discussion and examination, we have concluded that IMDb's message boards are no longer providing a positive, useful experience for the vast majority of our more than 250 million monthly users worldwide. The decision to retire a long-standing feature was made only after careful consideration and was based on data and traffic.

I was always more of a lurker than a talker, but I do find surprise that the demand for this feature had gotten that low.

I always enjoyed coming here and listening to you talk about your favorite aspects of Barney Miller (1974), and occasionally contributing my own two cents. I will miss all of you.



I found the boards to be good sources of information and opinion. I enjoy reading the majority of what people write. I've even gotten questions of mine answered when I couldn't locate the information directly. Personally I like the boards and I will miss spending time on them.

For me the message boards were the main reason I came here. Sure gonna miss them.

I still feel that nothing is certain, and it'll be interesting to see how the traffic for this site changes after the boards are disabled. But yeah, it's a shame. I'm actually going on a Last Discussion Tour on boards I've been wanting to discuss on, ....in which I've wanted to discuss, there that's better. This show being one of them, as I recent discovered Barney Miller about 2 or so years ago and I'm still hooked. It's a show in the 70s that doesn't really say "Hey, we're in the 70s" like other shows. Anyway, back to the tour.
