One of many underrated 1970's Beauties in need of a DVD

The Panavision photography alone merits a DVD release from Warners, who (along with too many other majors) have begun to drag their feet in releasing older titles. Aside from its visual beauty, the cast and story are stellar, and this one would likely win its share of new fans among those who appreciate this kind of cinema.

Hackman, Liv Ullmann, Harry Dean Stanton, and Mail Order brides.

It sounds like magic in the making. And it has its moments.

It was a very original movie and probably very realistic of those times but depressing.

I agree. It's the only notable Hackman film I've yet to see!

Edit: I finally saw this! I enjoyed it. A quiet, little drama.
