Of course the kids would have a Blue Christmas without Santa Claus. They wouldn't be getting toys from him. They didn't care about him when singing the song, just lamenting not getting toys.

That occurred to me as well, but it seemed Santa took it the best way possible, that they would personally miss his presence first and perhaps secondarily his presents.
