Apparently the same thing that's happened to proper capitalization and punctuation, idiot.
HEY! I don't recall making that post!
Good thing I was sifting back through old posts.
I wonder if my account's been hacked?
Good Shootin', Tex!
I much agree paulsims... I want to see this movie again... but dont even have a vhs player anymore... needs to be dvd-rom compatible for me. But great movie despite what lynda carter fans may say.share
I remember watching this when it premiered and was underwhelmed, and I was a huge fan of comic book heroes at the time. It had some good ideas, and a few good scenes, but little action, and Cathy Lee Crosby was fairly one note. I saw it again about 10-15 years later and time and nostalgia were no benefit. Outside of Ricardo Montalban, there was nothing to recommend.
I liked the Lynda Carter series, but only a handful of episodes, so I'm no raving fanatic. It had more charm to it and Carter was a step up, but it still suffered from bad script and a lack of decent villains, not to mention low budget. However, it was more entertaining, at least for about half of the first season.
I wouldn't mind seeing it again on dvd, with some extras. It was at least on par with the failed Marvel pilots and shows of the 70's.
I would have thought they would have tacked it on as a bonus with the Wonder Woman season sets. I suppose different companies own it.
...and when you retire: your very own jukebox!
id love to have this on dvd if anyone knows how/where???? thanks! [email protected]share
It's a shame that this film wasn't put on any of the WW Lynda Carter DVD's. There was no show after this with Cathy Lee Crosby, so it would've been a great discovery for those who had no idea of its existence(like me). I was looking through the video.aol.com site and noticed this Made for TV movie. I thought it was a mistake, but as I was watching it I noticed its 70's feel and similar look to the classic Lynda Carter TV Series. Now I have all three sason of the show and the last Season came with an unaired Shazaam show. This would've been more appropriate.
Cathy Lee Crosby is no Lynda Carter, but she is good at how she plays it. I was disappointed in her look, a she isn't a Brunette an even non comic book readers(like myself)no that WW is a brunette.
This movie sets up a brief origin story, but quickly goes into Diana living among regular humans comfortable and well respected(this wasn't such a good thing). There is a somewhat darker undertone, that unless you watch carefully you won't see it. The music isn't as exciting as the 1976 series has(I become a kid again singing with the show, lol).
I'm sorry I appreciate everyone who has read this far. I know this is meant for a word on a DVD release.
To answer that question, I do not think it will happen. The most we can hope is this movie being released with another TV series as a bonus disc(Smallville: Season Six is being released with the Aquaman pilot, so if Birds of Prey is ever released, we can wish on that).
You can watch it at this link:
Hi, the movie is available on http://www.raretelevision.com/index.php?page=3&act=viewCat&catId=23
Tons of rare TV available.
"...an unaired Shazaam show"
So that isn't the Captain Marvel / Isis show that was on Saturday mornings during the mid 70's?
Good Shootin', Tex!
Who knows if it won't hit the DVD market, maybe in a Wonder Woman Complete Series release if WB gets the same idea as CBS/Paramount.
You just have to look at the latest BoS Limited release of Charmed. They inclouded the unaired pilot with Lori Rom as Phoebe Halliwell after lots and lots of demands from the fans directly to CBS/Paramount ;-)
I guess that WB could find some item from the Wonder Woman series with Lynda, that they could turn into a container with all the season DVDs inside AND and extras disc with the Wonder Woman movie with Cathy Lee Crosby.
If CBS/Paramount could do it with Charmed, then why not WB with Wonder Woman.

First of all the Crosby film was also made by Warner, so it could have been included on side 2 of disc 3 of the Season 1 set (it was left blank). Second, the Shazam episode that was released on a bare bones disc is one of the first episodes to air back in 1974. So far it's the only one to be released while Isis was released in complete form, but is now out of print because the company went under. I rarely watch the Shazam disc since there is nothing there but the show, no menu, no FBI warnings, no nothing. If anyone who bought season 3 and missed out wants it, be my guest and take it off my hands.share
If Warner owns it maybe they'll have it on their Warner Archives MOD service.share
I keep hoping a DVD will be made available. My only copy is from a WTBS Broadcast of the (edited) movie. I have it on tape and have copied it to a dvd but the source tape didn't track well. It's very annoying that it is impossible to get this. I've tried everywhere. It's like the only movie shot for the Marvel comic "Generation X". I have a copy on tape because I had taped the special when it originally aired. Please update here if you do find a DVD or gods-forbid, a blu-ray.
This came up on a google search:
I have no idea if it's legitimate or not. Anyone else out there know?
The legitimate release will be available from the Warner Archives, on Dec. 11. You can pre-order at their site now. This is the real deal, not an Nth generation bootleg.
"Fortunately, Ah keep mah feathers numbered for just such an emergency!"
Yeah, as it happens, I ordered the bootleg about a month ago. Then I just found out yesterday that the official release is coming out soon. Of all the rotten luck! Oh well, at least I didn't pay an arm and a leg for the bootleg.share
