DVD clear ups

Yeah, I bought the DVD FOR 40 FORKING DOLLARS and yes, it sucks really bad.
I was born way after the film's release, so of course I never got to see the theatrical release and this *beep* DVD is fullscreen.
Yikes.

So, luckily TCM played the full letterbox version without any interuptions and I have to say, wow; so many things have been cleared up.

Okay, so firstly the camera work is much better WHEN YOU CAN *beep* SEE IT!

Secondly, there is no fast cut where the disc flips.
It really does intentionally cut off in the middle of the doctor's sentence straight to Falk in his truck at the work site.

I thought because the idea to cut the film into two parts and present it in 4:3 that they would surely, and unapologetically, cut part of the film out like that with no problem.
Every bit of this DVD seems thrown together on Final Cut and merely for profit.

Also, the edit on TCM had the sound turned up "full blast" so I didn't have to turn my surround sound--or lack thereof--to the point of literal speaker hiss.
I actually heard all the dialogue.

Sorry guys, I wish I would've known about this showing a few days in advance to give the good word, but I guess it's worth just knowing that, despite the stupidity clearly shown in the construction of the DVD, that we're not really missing anything as far as continuity.

Oh, except maybe 15-30% of the screen because of the 4:3 . . .

*beep* I wish I had Tivo or some such *beep* . . .
Now I'll have to buy the WHOLE Criterion collection to see it again . . .
