HATED the book...

I hope I'm not the only one who felt sorry for all the coons, AND for the mountain lion that killed them. Old Dan's behavior was just so disturbing to me. We're going to see the movie in class soon and I just don't think I'll be able to watch it. So is the movie better or even worse than the book?

"Well, we're boned"

If I remember correctly it's not too bad there is only a bit of blood on the axe after Billy stabs the mountain lion, I think there are no visible wounds on old Dan after he is killed, and I believe no raccoons are killed onscreen.

You sad little yuppie...
Animals are here for two reasons, to be food, or to help us catch food. Period. Billy couldn't spend all of his time playing his nintendo and learning to be a disrespectful little punk. Life was hard work back then, and kids still enjoyed it.

I guess the meek can inherit the Earth now. It looks like the stupid aren't doing anything with it.

Oh quit living under Mamma's protective arm, stop living in the fantasy world of watching cartoons and playing video games all day...

I would not be surprised if you are one of those folks, that hate Classic Disney films because it has a (Cartoon) Witch in it too...

Grow up and live in the real world...

Old Dan was a Coon Dog, and Coon Dogs hunt and kill Raccoons! It was not disturbing, it was life! All sorts of Coon Dogs kill Raccoons every day, and all day long! Kill Kill Kill! So don't single out Old Dan for doing what was bred in to him...

If you really can't deal with Coon Dogs killing Racoons, go see a psychiatrist...

And until then, may God help you when you are cowering behind a couch when real evil starts showing up in your life, such as Serial Killers and Terrorists.
