How Did Little Dan DIe?!

I forgot, did Little Dan die by getting killed by the Mountain Lion, or was it because when Billy took out his axe to try to kill the Mountain Lion to stop from takkling Little Dan and he missed and chopped Little Dan instead, because after I saw Billy slam the axe on the ground I heard fate whining.

You may find some things different from my point of view...

Old Dan died because the mountain gives him huge cuts, causing a branch to get caught inside a cut, pulling out his entrails.

Person:A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
Me:Whoops.

reply

Thanks... but I'm only 13, so what does entrails mean?

I believe the entrails are the dogs inside organs, such as the intestines, the kidneys...yadda yadda ya

If I had a list for the saddest movies ever, this would be on the top...

reply

It is. The book goes into much more detail about this and how Billy and his mother try to wash the dirty organs and stuff them back inside.

grosss!! I'm never reading THAT book!

reply

Coward.

I guess the meek can inherit the Earth now. It looks like the stupid aren't doing anything with it.

You're thirteen and you don't know what entrails are? Jesus, the education system really blows!

Did it hurt?

Mountain Lions, like your kitty cat have very strong hind legs with very large and sharp claws, they will slap and paw with the front and do lots of damage that way, but the real damage is when the get you down and hold you with their front paws and kick/scratch with the back paws. That is when the real damage got done. Sadly as a fan of this book since I was introduced to it in 2nd or 3rd grade, I have thought deeply on many aspects of it. This being one of them. I taught my cat not to do this to me when he'd get feisty, or as my dad called it, "fighty-fight, bitey bite". As a teenager, my step mom accidentally stepped on one of her cat's kitten (no injury to kitten, just a loud squeal) but the mama cat went insane and attacked my step mom's leg with full fury of all four paws and teeth, it was scary. My dad was a medic in the Coast Guard so he treated her VERY deep wounds and they decided not to get stitches. She still has deep scars and marks. So if a domestic cat can do that, imagine what a much more muscular and wild mountain lion could do.

Sadly I have.

They are not to be messed with. Neither are bobcats, they are smaller but again, same basic abilities and even though smaller, still just as dangerous.

This is probably a necro thread, utawa I feel like rambling because I just re-watched WTRFG and it's been in my head again.

Great book, and pretty great movie,, just wish it would have been more true to the book. Wonder if the remake is. Haven't seen it.
