I wish I could answer your question but I must say that the music was really touching in this film and at the end, brought me to tears as pictures of the mountains came on the screen and Mary Call followed her true heart song.

Peace.

I found the 45 of the title track and an instrumental on Ebay. Email me if you'd like to hear them.

Joan Baez did a song called Mary Call.

Mary Call, Mary Call
You never stumble, you never fall
Silver stars and lilies call
For the yearning of the young one
Named Mary Call
She's the treasure of the mountains
And the dearest one of all.

Papa's gone and mama too
This life has been quite cruel to you
But spirit took you from the start
It made you brave and it gave you heart
Brothers and sisters by your side
You worked so hard that the earth took pride
It gave you sage, wild thyme and rue
To earn your keep, to pull you through.

Mary Call, Mary Call
You stand so straight and you stand so tall
Winds will sweep and rivers fall
For the yearning of the young one
Named Mary Call
She's the treasure of the mountains
And the dearest one of all.

When you finally met despair
A kindly man came to your care
He held you in his arms and said
Just dry your eyes and rest your head
Too tired to argue or protest
You realized you'd done your best
There'll be a place for you somewhere
To tie bright ribbons through your hair.

There was a sound track done on LP for WTLB. It is, I believe, a Scruggs Review album (not 100% sure about that...but fairly certain). You can find them on ebay periodically.

The music is lovely, and haunting. I grew up listening to bluegrass music, so this album was a natural purchase for my family when I was young. Both of my parents have a copy, as do I.

I can try and write down any lyrics you want. But again, you can periodically find the LP on ebay - or other vintage record album store sites.

Good luck!

Been listening to this album alot lately - just thought I would post that the funeral song - "Been A Long Time Traveling" or just "Long Time Traveling" is actually on iTunes in a few places, not from this movie however (the Addie Graham version is excellent if you enjoy folk music). It is an Appalachian folk tune - the melody is mostly made up by whomever chooses to sing it.

I have the lyrics to that particular song, as well as the lyrics to Where the Lilies Bloom as well.

Joan Baez did a version of All My Trials which is pretty faithful (there are no words on the WTLB soundtrack).

I need to watch the movie to see which song is being played when Mary Call walks in the rain...I can't remember. Here is a list of the songs on the soundtrack however:

1) Where the Lilies Bloom
2) Opening Narration
3) Turkey Chase
4) All My Trials
5) I Love My Love
6) Where the lilies bloom
7) Flinthill special
8) Carolina Boogie
9) Been a Long Time Traveling
10) Stash It
11) Narration - Mary Call
12) All the Pretty Little Horses (this is a rather famous lullabye, also sung in the recent Flicka)
13) Keep On the Sunny Side
14) All the Things Inside of Me
15) Closing Narration/Where the Lilies Bloom

CD on Amazon or Ebay, maybe?

*The shape-shifter is in and will take your calls now.

The soundtrack is on LP only...unless someone has transferred it to CD (which I did, to preserve my album/LP copy).
