150 Minute Version?

Does anybody know about the alleged 150 minute cut of this film? Usually this sort of thing shows up in the video-trading grey-market, but I have yet to see anybody who has the longer version. Does anybody know that it even exists, outside of its listing on the IMDB?

reply

It was restored for the 25th anniversary of the film in 1999. But an injunction lawsuit from lawyers for Depardieu prevented it from beeing shown at a gala event in Paris. MTV-Europe reported about the canceld gala back then. A bootleg version of the cut exists, but is a very hard to come by, since not many ppl are interesed in "art movies" in these "circles".

It would be interesting, this being the director's first vision of his movie ; just as a curiosity, not a replacement for the 'classical' one, of course...
(If anyone owning a copy has emule running...;))

I really consider it a replacment. It's much better dramaticly and explains a lot of plot holes and reeves that occor in the theatrical version. I just found an old VHS tape copy from the first video version available in germany by Mike Hunter Video and it has some of the scenes includes!

I too asked at Tank-16 the link to the 150-minute version. Instead of the reference I have received the paranoid E-Mail where has been without the slightest grounds suspected features knows in what. Then in other letters from Tank-16 I should read different antiglobalistic delirium. Any I and have not received the link.
It is interesting to me - somebody has received from it the link?
Or it simply the mentally-unhealthy person who thus tries to communicate with other people

> Any I and have not received the link.

Because, to all my investigatons, you're a netcop. Your IMDB-account was acctivated only recently and only after my message was posted. And guess what...? You havn`t participated in anything else! Now, if that issn`t susspicios behavior!

> It is interesting to me - somebody has received from it the link?

If they have, they certainly will not post it here, because they have been told not to do so. Other ppl have not gotten back to me yet. Hint... Hint...

If you make accusations like that, you should be carefull. It could be considered a character assassination campain, since I didn`t fall for you stupid trap.

I'm a well known member and contributor to IMDB for many years and hold a lot of clout around here. So consider yourself fairly warned.

You, on the other hand, obuisly, are a troll who has not the slightes idear of netiquette, as you vividly displayed in several PMs and are displaing right now again. You don`t even speak enough english to communicate viably. Typicall for a DCF!

If any link is still available, please share with me. I loved this movie but there are gaps in the plot so it sounds like the 150 min version would be interesting to see! Hope it gets officially released some day....
