Great - With the best two minutes in film

This is an awesome movie I never saw until 2010. The acting is (mostly) excellent, the casting is amazing, the direction is excellent, the cinematography is excellent, the music is better than most John Williams, and the action is great.

Moreover, I think that the chase action, cinematography, and music was the literal blueprint for the show CHiPs, which came along four years later. I think they just told the composers to make music like that but a little whiter, so they turned up the treble and there you had CHiPs.

It isn't just the movie itself, the last two minutes with the credits rolling is two of the best minutes in film, beautiful camera work and the best music ever in a film. Please understand this people, the music in Shaft isn't better or even nearly equal to the music here, just better known.

This movie deals mostly with black society in the 70s, both the good guys and the bad guys are black, even at the hospital, the patients, nurses, and doctors are black, and the entire film is largely devoid of cops. The few whites they have are just in passing, and not vilified or even key to the plot.

There are very few whites in the whole film, but that's a good thing, this is one of the few films of the genre that doesn't even suggest that whitey is everything that is wrong with the world, like Bucktown, USA, which takes place in "a jive town full-a crackas!!!"

I strongly recommend this film.
