DVD release?

With so many exploitation, cult, and drive-in movies from all eras getting DVD releases, I'm really surprised that "Truck Stop Women" hasn't gotten the DVD treatment yet. I mean, even the lesser Claudia Jennings flick "Sisters of Death" is on DVD, so why hasn't anybody put this one out?

I agree with you 100%, Erich-13. "Truck Stop Women" really needs to be issued on DVD already. It's one of my all-time favorite Claudia Jennings 70's drive-in gems. I rate it highly right alongside both "Unholy Rollers" and "The Great Texas Dynamite Chase," two other first-rate pieces of grindhouse trash that I absolutely adore. Hopefully MGM will get their act together and issue this honey on DVD in a widescreen and digitally remastered disc, preferably on a doublebill "flipper" disc with the equally excellent "Unholy Rollers." Alas, MGM got bought out by Sony, who don't care enough to put out a lot of the back catalogue of movies in the extremely substantial MGM library. However, Lion's Gate has lately been picking up the slack for MGM, so keep your fingers crossed for a forthcoming "Truck Stop Women" DVD from them instead.

I would just like to agree 100% with the above posts. Why is it that so many poor to average grindhouse movies are coming to dvd when classics like this and so many other greats are nowhere in sight. As a huge fan of these kinds of movies I wish some very rich person would start their own dvd company and give fans like us the real gems, like this one.
Tarantino should put out his own Grindhouse collection.

You can order it direct from truckerflicks.com it's been available from there for a while now

It sure looks like they took the front cover of the VHS Vestron Video release for their DVD. I wonder if their DVD was transferred right from an old Vestron tape.

(I have the Vestron box and tape).

I don't want a horrible pan and scan video bootleg version, this movie was shot in full scope, the vhs which I own, is terrible with characters heads cut in half due to the poor framing. I can't understand why IMDB has such a stupidly low score for this trash classic. Someone needs to put out a restored DVD pronto.

Hi roegcamel- any idea where such a tape can be sourced? Not that it would be any use to me as I don't have a beta player, but I know a man who does....

Hello Roegcamel-
Which are your favourite Nic and Donald pictures ?

Mine would be Performance, Demon Seed, White of the Eye, Walkabout, don't Look Now, The Man Who Fell to Earth, Bad Timing and Track 29 along with Nic's DP work on Fahrenheit 451.

I prefer Lieux Dressler.

I agree Lieux Dressler is awesome in this movie, and I'm still waiting for a DVD or at least on demand DVD-R. Why does this exploitation gem have such a low score here on IMDB, the hilarious trucker song alone is worth the price of any future release.
