This is what Philippine cinema should be about - using art to dissect the society. Lino Brocka satisfactorily uses the medium to communicate the hypocrisy of the Philippine society then - from the gossipmongers, the paradoxical religiosity of the people, colonial mentality, womanizing culture, etc. I hope more Filipinos could experience this brilliance. Highly recommended.
