Where is the gore?

According to the parents guide this film is some kind of horrific sight to see. However I watched the full version and I would say that the average R rated 80's movies were far more frightening in terms of blood and gore,, even many 70's films are more extreme. According to the parents guide the eye cutting scene is unsimulated, but in actuality it sure seems to be fake. Only the hardcore porn aspect of the film makes this anything to cringe about. The violence/gore according to the guide here gives it a 10/10, when in actuality I'd say it should be about a 7, tops. Any thoughts?
