Two of the most beautiful and cinematic film ever made

These films still stick in my memory when i watched them as a kid in the seventies. The colours and lighting make it look like a film made a few years ago.Put these on par with prometheus and lawrence of a arabia for eye popping visuals. last time i saw these films was the early 90 sand they still looked impressive.

I agree and have always thought so. I first saw this film when I was very young and realised even then I was seeing something very special.

Watching 3 Musketeers now on TCM, and it is a truly spectacular production. Holds up very well on my HDTV.

I couldn't agree more! Excellent movies in so many ways. Even as kid you recognize quality when you see it. Lush visuals combined with intelligent humour, great action and a beautiful score, who could want more?

The opening scene of the practice sword fight, made me realise I would be in for a treat!

The camerawork, the sfx, the choreography, along with the opening score, just blew me away!

Visually arresting, but with a gripping and well-paced story throughout; and the actors genuinely appear to be enjoying their roles.

Agreed. They're great.

reply

Yeah they were both very enjoyable imo.

It's clear they spent some money on this film, the production is excellent.

reply

High quality production.

This is a bit like The Mask of Zorro (1998) and Pirates of the Caribbean (2003)...only better.

Probably my favorite 'swash buckling adventure' film.
