That's NOT Entertaiment

Can anyone explain why this glorious compilation StIll hasn't made it to DVD?

It is coming to DVD on October 12.... I just found out today.

I've put my order in for the boxed set, but the three parts are being sold on individual DVD's too. I have all three taped off TCM but I can't wait for my discs to arrive! :)

It has (and all 3 movies, including a bonus DVD and CD)...but weird enough on a different label. Warner Home Video has distributed many if not most of the MGM musicals. There was a small sampling in the paper insert, under the heading "SCORES OF MUSICAL HIGH NOTES ON WARNER DVD!" Some of those musicals were actually Warner releases (Camelot was probably one as it was previously released years ago on a 2-tape VHS) There was also a disclaimer that most of the musicals were G-rated, one each was rated PG and PG-13, and two were rated R. Some weren't rated.

I know what some of you people are thinking: why weren't these distributed through MGM itself? Even some of the MGM video releases have a disclaimer: "Available exclusively through Warner Home Video" even though the shield doesn't appear on the package or in the video.

Warner owns the pre 1985 MGM library now. I've seen very little MGM post '85 out, they mostly release UA, Embassy and Orion/AIP now.
One example: Poltergeist (Warner) Poltergeist II & III Double Feature (MGM DVD)

If you have netflix you can get it there. I used the 'watch now' feature and didn't have to wait. :)
