Astaire and Rogers

altho i know this movie was a tribute to mgm there are times when one regrets the abcense of clips from other studios...and never more that watching the stiffer dancing of the older Ginger Rogers.....some poor saps out there who only ever saw fred and ginger in this movie would wonder what the big deal was.

It is not our abilities that make us who we are...it is our choices

Are you a stroke victim??? The WHOLE POINT of the film is that it's
a tribute to MGM studios. And the absence of other studios is NOT missed.
MGM produced the greatest musicals ever made and Fox/Warner's/Universal/
Paramount had no equals that tapped into Arthur Freed, Vincente Minnelli,
George Sidney, Garland, Kelly and Astaire. And Astaire and Ginger's
"The Barkleys of Broadway" is a fine musical, certainly greater than
their last RKO film "The Story of Vernon and Irene Castle." They danced
beautifully in the "Barkleys."
