Just watched for the first time and I have one question about the end

What happened to the truck driver that got out to help? We see leatherface with his chainsaw at the end but you'd assume he'd be chasing his new victim .

Officially his fate has never been explained. A deleted scene from TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D shows that he was actually killed and hung from the wall in the farmhouse. This scene was cut, I'm not sure why. It was very brief. The "sequel" overlooks a lot of their crimes and cannibalism, so maybe the film-makers were just trying to make the Sawyers look better so we don't sympathize with the redneck mob.

Okay thanks man!

I gotta admit i laughed so hard when he came out of the truck to help the girl, only to see leatherface running around the other side, sending him running.

The movie was scary but also very funny IMO.

I saw the remake and I thought it was "okay" so I decided to watch the original today! I can definitely understand why it spawned so many sequels as the film looks pretty realistic and gritty. I can understand why it was so revolutionary at its time.

Not my favorite movie but very good.

Yep, he's still running. Last week I saw him running pass my window while I was cleaning the dishes.
It's the second time I see him since he started running in 1974. Last time was in 1988.

Let me tell you he's really thin by now.

PS = In the last film, Leatherface 3d, a deleted scene shown his corpse hanging in the farmhouse kitchen.

I think he could give Dustin Hoffman in The Marathon Man a run for his money. Pun fully intended.

You are sin.

I think he just hid in the bushes and crept away when it was safer.

I think that fighting off a severely injured Leatherface would be the most of the driver's troubles. I certainly don't think he got killed.

He probably kept running and hopefully found a passing vehicle to escape.

I wonder why he djdnt just lock the truck?

reply

Legend says he's still running to this day.

Leatherface didn't seem too concerned about the truck driver's escape. Besides, he severely cut his leg open with a chainsaw. Even if he wanted to kill the truck driver, he was in no position to do so. In real life, it would basically be impossible to chase after someone with an open wound like that. The pain would be immense. I think the truck driver just ran away.
