how much of this film wasn't staged?

I found this film funny and humorous at first and was gradually disgusted as the film progresses into degeneracy (I admire the film for its distinctive imagery and confidence to portray such grottesque acts). I'm curious though, how much of this film wasn't staged? Like the scenes with the commune throwing up or defecating or the scenes with urination or graphic depictions of sex? If none of those elements were staged, I admire the director for his confidence in filming it.
