Remake canidate?

I think this film would be the perfect canidate for a remake. Instead of remaking popular films like Footloose and Dirty Dancing, maybe retooling some lesser known movies and making them better than the original would work too. I could see Steve Carrell or Greg Kinnear (I know it's spelled wrong) taking on the Dad role. Emma Watson would be cute as the daughter. Daniel Radcliff would be funny as Stanley(the Bruno Kirby role). I'm up for suggestions on who could play Bart as well as Kurt Russell.
