What a load of geographically incorrect CRAP

I LIVED in Sugar Land for several years.

It's nowhere NEAR the BORDER, you dillholes!

This film makes it look like you can get to the US/Mexico borders within a short time period...from SUGAR LAND!

It takes 4 HOURS just to get to CORPUS CHRISTI!

It's a movie! It's not Texas but "Texas". Cinematically, it makes more sense to have it happening seemingly near the US/Mexico border. The early Spielberg knew how to tell a story visually. It doesn't necessarily have to comport with the "real world".

Yes, I think a lot of movies do that because the Paul Newman film 'The Drowning Pool' was filmed mostly in the New Orleans area, but they also filmed it 200 miles away in the town where I lived, but when you see the film it's like he jumped in his car, drove a short distance and ended up in New Orleans.
