Noticed that? Clovis' parents are both dead, he's 25 years old, Lou Jean's 25 years old and has a father around 80, and Hubie is around Clovis and Lou Jean's age and has elderly parents. Weird!

Slightly OT -
I'm not sure when things started to change (in the 1980's, maybe?) with appearances, but Atherton and Hawn were in their late 20's but looked like 'adults' or could even pass for being five or ten years older.
If this film were done today with (for example) Ellen Page and Michael Cera - who are both in their late 20's like the aforementioned actors - they'd look like a couple of kids.
People's lives have been easier since the 90's. Most 20-somethings still look like kids, but back in 1974, they were total adults. Hawn and Atherton would look around 40 today!
