Why so dirty?

I watched this one on YouTube last Sunday. I just wonder why everyone were so dirty? Was it a part of "macho" culture not to bathe or something to do with drugs? I know that heroine users don't want to bathe as dirty skin keeps the stuff "in" longer.

What about the dawn swim? They got clean then. A swim is as good as a bath, in my book.
