Technically Snuff films are those that show real torture and/or death right? So could a documentary be considered a Snuff film Also, someone said Faces Of Death was not real. I am sure not all of it is, but a lot of it is actually footage of death and killings.

There are no snuff films for purchase, but I imagine some sick killer out there probably has a private video of killing some person brutally, which is snuff of course.

There was a huge scandal a few years ago concerning a couple. The wife and her new lover slaughtered the husband, and posed in various grotesque positions (including cutting the hand of the poor man, and playing with his middle finger through his nose) while shooting the scene with a camera. The shots appeared in a hidden booklet in a porn magazine. They apparently knew the man who was working at their local photo-shop, but the day the pictures where developped, he wasn't here. So the substitute called the police, but also sold the pictures to the magazine.
Believe me, it was gross...
But real snuff movies cannot exist because of their own definition. It's totally impossible to sell a movie in which you've built a whole real murder scene.

of course snuff films exist. i dont know the definition of snuff, they are mainly made in 3rd world countries, where they kinda do anything for money. example- a poor mother sells one of her young daughters to a snuff filmaker and the young girl is raped and tortured on tape eventually murdered. now youve got yourself a snuff film. a great book to read is GODS OF DEATH by some isralie guy, he trys to find snuff films and you'll be amazed/[or not] to find out that snuff films are made here in out own country of america. theres a whole bunch of other stuff so yeah of course it exists

Thing is, death caught on film isn't necessarily a snuff film in the true sense. A snuff film shows murder, but is also made to order and sold for profit. A murderer filming his crimes has not created a snuff film unless he sells the film on to a client. No true snuff film has been identified by police to date.

My definition or my opinion on what a snuff film is, i think that they are videos of someone getting tortured then killed. Thats what I always thought they were.

Yes, most of Faces of Death is reeneacted and staged. The director himself said no one was killed during the production of filming. Traces of Death is more authentic,but like Faces of Death; no one was killed by crew during the production.
When I see comments on snuff,people bring up movies like Cannibal Holocaust,Guniea Pig Projects and the internet viral shock; 3Guys1Hammer. But,we all know the first two are not snuffs. It's been proven time and time again. As for the 3rd, it's not a snuff. But people still believe it is. Yes, it is a recorded murder. Yes, the man was killed by the two or three that were making it. But no, the video was never sold. As far as I know,of course. Although I heard from someone that they were planning on telling it to someone who owned a snuff related website;until they were caught.
So we do know that there are taped murders. But as for SNUFF, we just haven't found it yet.

Has a scene where DMX comes home to his mansion from a hard day of drug dealing and puts on a tape, then goes to roll a blunt and pours himself a drink. The tape shows 2 white kids, one wearing a fox suit, the other wearing a bunny hat and both kids are shirtless. The kid with the fox hat takes a gun and shoots the bunny and says something like die you F-ken Bunny!! Then the kid falls to the ground and doesn't move... I'm guessing it's suppose to be taken that he was watching a Snuff film. It wasn't real of-course, it was just part of the movie to show the kind of things a drug dealer / killer would enjoy watching to wind down from a hard day of work.
