I think they took a Wienershnitzel dog outfit (which was popular at the time) and decided to make a movie around it.

Go to Hell you creep!

Looks more like:

1.) White fur suit

2.) Dark-brown mullet (mane)

3.) Santa beard

4.) Vampire teeth

5.) White tennis shoes

Sounds pretty much like The Passion of the Christ!

Kinda reminded me of Digby, or more recently that big dog on Seasame Street.
