DVD

Does anyone have any idea if this "lost" Oliver Stone film is EVER going to appear on dvd? Is Ollie suppressing it for some reason?
This little gem needs to be out there in a sparkling dvd transfer!

You might catch it on TCM, its old enough to be there I think. I have found many unknown classics through that station.

Its not out on dvd, dont think.

wouldnt mind if some company released it.

Its Stones very first movie, and its not bad really, he shouldnt be embarressed by it, very rough around the edges, and worth seeing just to see Stones first attempt at a feature film with all its flaws - before he made bigger hollywood features.

I just watched the DVD for this last night, the print's pretty crummy like an old VHS, but it doesn't seem to be edited or anything. Sadly, for the price you pay on Amazon (around $22) the DVD is bare bones, no extras except for a shoddy "stills gallery".

reply

It's a 'grey market' release which seems to have been mastered from a VHS source. It's also an edited version of the film. As I understand it, 'Seizure' remains in limbo, partly because it was made with Canadian tax shelter money, and the home video rights are not available. A 1980s UK video release, on the RCA Columbia label, offered the full version of the film, though the picture and sound quality are unremarkable.

I agree, this version looked very bad. It almost looked older than it actually is.

believe it or not, a Blu ray is coming from Scorpion

reply

Scorpion Releasing are issuing this film in both formats on September 9. Extras include interviews with Richard Cox and Mary Woronov. The Blu-ray is $29.95 while the DVD is priced at $19.95.
