Probably says more about me, than the movie but...


I think this is my favorite of any of Stone's films. The story of a writer whose life consists of cowardice and selfishness and who is revealed by the monsters of his imagination, as the grotesque that he is. I like the angle of setting up a film from the point of view of a character who becomes so unlikable that you are rooting for his demise by the end.

And, I love that Christina Pickles is put to good use here. She's fantastic.

This is surprisingly the first film I've seen of his but I know he's a famous A-list director now. If his other movies are half as good then I can see why he's so well respected. This was great.
