Fausto = Gregory House?

I know the subject sounds pretty stupid, but has anyone but me seen the similarity between these two characters. Of course, House isn't nearly as eccentric and f.cked-up, but cynicism and bitterness, as well as despair and complete refusal to get any help or sympathy from anyone can be seen in both characters. Note what Fausto says to Sara when she tells him that she wants to be with him and compare it to how House reacts when Cameron declares her affection toward him (I think it's someone near the end of season 1).

One could say that House is a softened version of Fausto...

Wow! how did you ever come up with comparing these 2 characters.
I have to say my remarks may be biased because I can hardly stand to watch 'House'. I start to watch it because I'm intrigued by the storyline, then I have to turn the channel because he is so annoying. Haven't quite worked out yet if it's House or Hugh Laurie that annoys me.
Go figure!
But I have to say V.G. is a much better actor than H.L.
