Zechs Merquise helmet kinda looks like the Phantoms

In the gundam series theirs a pilot named Zechs Merquise that wears a helmet similar to Winslows. I can't make this up google it. This movie came to mind when I was watching the series. Who knows maybe the artist liked the movie and came up with the design.
