Who else thought Beef was funny?

He was a riot even with Garret Graham playing him.

He reminded me of a poor man's Freddy Mercury

He was a riot.

"Oh, I knew I shouldn't be screwing with a dead man's music. This place is possessed!"
"You trying to tell me you didn't hear that shriek? That was something trying to get out of its premature grave and I don't want to be here when it does!"

"Even???" Graham was inspired! I met him, BTW. It was at the LA Art Museum's premiere of Michael Anderson's film of the play Conduct Unbecoming (which I'd seen in London a few years before). I recognized Graham and said to him, "You're Beef!" He gave me a withering glance and said, "My name is Gerrit Graham."

I still think, 40 years later, he was brilliant.

Even his high-voltage death on stage was a laugh-riot!

I loved Beef so much. He was the true show stopper of the movie for sure.

He was definitely the highlight of the movie...

The film is patchy, although endearingly so, and some of the acting is pretty poor -- but Gerrit Graham is magic as Beef, and the movie comes alive when he's on screen. Hilarious performance!
