Sad To See

I have this movie on dvd.
It is a good 70's made for tv movie, and historic in a way, because of the tearing down of the old MGM back movie lot.
I like the way they would show a building (set)
and then a flash back of the original movie that was shot on this set.

Sad to see the bulldozing of these great old sets.
Part of movie history gone.

All gone to finance a misguided Las Vegas casino venture...

When one looks at the attraction Universal made of their backlot, it becomes painfully obvious the MGM execs were astoundingly short sighted. Can you imagine the value today of the costumes, props and backlot had they been kept intact? Warner Brothers, thankfully, seems to realize the value of their history.

At least the soundstages and most of the studio buildings remain... let's hope in the future that their history is respected.
