Miniature Train

The miniature Union Pacific train that Joseph Frady(Warren Beatty) is seen riding when he asks a former policeman friend about acquiring a false identiy card from his pals at the El Monte P D, an eastern Los Angeles suburb in the San Gabriel Valley, is part of Griffith Park in Los Angeles which is home to the Los Angeles Zoo, the Greek Theatre, Dodger Stadium, the Griffith Planetarium and other attractions.

When I was four years old (wa-a-a-y back in 1956) I was in L.A. for several weeks with my parents. One of the many attractions we took in was Griffiths Park. The few memories I have of that long-ago time are hazy but one thing I do recall is riding on that mini-train and bawling and screaming my four-year-old head off because.....they had the audacity to NOT let me drive that train!!! Until I read your post I didn't recall where that train was. Thanks for the jog to the ol' memory. We also visited Disneyland, which in 1956 was only about 2/3 complete.

Isn't this filmed in Seattle? But yeah hearing El Monte made me think of home(Los Angeles) =)

Thank you for the info, but for the sake of the English language and user readability, please break your thoughts up into reasonable bites.

Rather than writing the worlds longest run-on sentence, consider some compartmentalization.

"The miniature Union Pacific Train that Joseph Frady (Warren Beaty's character) rides in this movie is located at Griffith Park in Los Angeles."

It should be a unique enough scene to pick out by the miniature train ride alone, unless the movie is filled with people riding miniature trains. What else the character is doing, and other tourist information about California should be contained in separate sentences.

Simplicity and clarity is powerful.

Thanks for stating the obvious.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic, however what may be obvious to you is not obvious to others who are not familiar with the Griffith Park mini-railroad, not everyone who is a participant of IMBD or this this film's message board is from Los Angeles or has visited So Cal.

Bodine's reply alone was well worth my time posting this "obvious" remark
