Parade in a Recently released Jacques Tati Classic on Swedish PAL DVD

Everyone who loves Tati needs to buy the region 2 DVD of Parade, from 1974, which was made for Swedish Television.

Make sure you get the Swedish DVD version. It is in French and has Scandanavian subtitles, which are NOT NEEDED, and you can turn them off, which is preferable. The film is pure magic, and is a comic and visual delight. Tati is ever again the perfectionist, even though he made Parade for Swedish TV, and his genius shines through in every frame.

Since this is essentially a silent film with wonderful and silly sound effects, it is best to watch this without subtitles, even if you don't speak French. Much of the French is simple and it is easy to understand since Tati's only announcing Circus acts, all of whom are fascinating.

Tati is also a treat here, with wonderfully funny mime routines, the best I've seen. He shot the amazing Parade in three days, but spent much longer on the soundtrack.

You can get this film for $20 at xploitedcinema.com ! It is the only authentic release on DVD of Parade.

It's Jacques Tati at his best, and his fans must get this amazing 2007 DVD release.

And if you don't have a multi-region dvd player, get one right away!!!!!!
