Voice of 'God'?

Who did the voice of "God", the guy in the garbage can? Anybody know? Its not shown in the credits on here. I'm watching this right now on DVD, just watching the trailer feature.

Its interesting, the film opens with a long shot out of darkness the way the original did. This time its the 1970s.
