Nine Lives of Fritz the Cat on Showtime Family!!!?

I woke up at a strange time and was flipping channels. I found NINE LIVES OF FRITZ THE CAT on the Showtime FAMILY channel. Anyone who reads this, please go to www.sho.com to complain. I'm no prude, but to imagine a 5 year old tuning into this is horrible.

reply

Yup. Looks like showtime made a mistake. I have the DVD. It sucks. It has lots of nudity and for a 5 year old it would be horrible. It even shows blood. I agree with you. One Morning On Saturday, I was flipping showtime channels and Heavy Traffic was on showtime broadband. I watched it. It's just like the film you're talking about. Do you have AIM? If you do, we can chat online. I'll tell my AIM Screen Name if you tell me you got AIM.

Heavy Traffic was directed by Ralph Bakshi, who directed the first Fritz the Cat

"it's up to the parents to monitor their kids not showtime."

exactly

Thats wierd them playing it in the day, its an 18 here in the uk, but I agree with vlvetmorning98 about it being up to parents not the network.

What a hideously stupid comment.

Parents would be putting the film on BECAUSE it's on Showtime family. The title and story aren't offensive. The film is.

WTF time is "a strange time?" and dont be so shocked it makes you look like one of those parents who blame everyone but themselves.

reply

Its interesting how parents have their TV raise their kids, then get angry when the TV does something the parents don't like.

Also, I think the story that started this thread is probably bogus.

reply

well, some parents would think that going like shopping for an hour and leaving kids to see showtime family wouldn't end up with the kid asking "mommy and daddy" too many guestions about adult stuff

SAY MY NAME, BITCH!
"Cowbell Solo!" Some guy from Cannibal!- the musical

reply

Helvetti- LOL on the "cannibal the musical" bit!

What R rated movie did the Disney Channel show?

What R rated movie did the Disney Channel show?

Me wants to know this to...

reply

Okay. Yes, parents need to censor what their kids watch. Yes. But think about it. It's just assumed that an R/X rated film will not be playing on a family channel. If the kids happen to stumble upon a porno channel, yes that's the parent's fault for not blocking the channel out. But most parents would assume that they could turn a family channel on and step out of the room for five minutes without assuming that an X rated film will come on. Parents have to keep track of what their kids watch, but there are certain films that should not be on certain channels. Period.

reply

Mind your own business. If you don't like it turn it off.

reply

I'm amazed no one has considered the possibility that the parents don't know what Fritz the Cat is. It's still a cult film, and not everyone recognise it if you mention it to them. It's like if they showed When The Wind Blows or Watership Down, a lot of people assume all cartoons are safe for kids. It's not always true, but you would expect at least showtime to tell the difference.

It was probably edited.I live in Canada and we have the Family Channel.Even the Family channel playes R-rated movies like at 9:00pm.I have seen movies like 8 Heads In A duffel Bag and scenes from a mall and plenty of other R-rated films on Family. But none of them are like Fritz The Cat.Also if you mean strange time as in late at night I doubt any 5 year old is even going to be up late at night watching TV.

Anybody else think the starter message of this thread was probably BULLS**T?

It don't think so, but honestly you can block channels out at certain times, so if you don't want your awful little goblin of a child watching something at three a.m.... block that time out on the chanel. Also tell him to go to sleep. Or don't, mabey then he wont throw tantrums in wall mart and mess with my head after I have been up all night drinking. I just want to get a frozen Pizza without a hastle you know. I mean we all go to the store so maybe you could be a better parent. Then again if some unbearable little monster willed it's way into my life and tried to stop me from doing what I want then I would most likely be even more jaded and let other people get a taste of hat life is like for me. But I don't want your kid judging me. So what if I wear sunglasses inside kid? The awful tube light burns my eyes. Not everyone can live in a three bedroom palace like you. What, you think your better than me baecause you have cable? I don't care, I hate t.v. I choose not to get cable. YOu know how much weed I can get fort 40 bucks a mounth unstead of having cable little fellow? an Ounce. That is good for me and my roomate for the month. Plus I just download movies and t.v. shows for free anyway so it's the best of both worlds. So that's why my head is killing me because I woke up at 2 with a grinding hangover and a busy wal mart is not a fun place to be when you are stoned out of your gorde.

All in all I think that people should pay attention to their kids and decided what they watch. And not just assume because something is on a family channel it is ok for kids to see.

Floozies in the lobby love the way I smell.
