MCA/Universal can be stingy with their movies - period. There's a good number of MCA movies that have *never* been released on any homevideo format. (I want to see 'CHECKERED FLAG OR CRASH'!). When NEWMAN'S LAW was still available new on VHS it used to retail at $59.99. I have an old ordering book from Movies Unlimited that has NEWMAN'S LAW in it and the movie never dropped in price before it went out of print. On the +PLUS+ side -- I was recently able to round up a *Brand New* and still-sealed tape of NEWMAN'S LAW with the MCA logo plastered on the shrinkwrap. Definitely an authentic goodie! :)

MCA released it in 1986 so it's been sealed up for many moons. I found it on Amazon. I already had an Ok used copy of NEWMAN'S LAW but I couldn't resist snapping it up just 'cuz it was *New*.

Fun.

can anyone tell me is their much action in the film ...is it comparable to busting---super cops -----serpico ???

reply

I've never seen 'SERPICO', but I have seen BUSTING and THE SUPER COPS and I'd say there's a fair amount of action in "NEWMAN'S LAW".

You might like 'THE LAUGHING POLICEMAN', "jswirb", if you like these kind of 1970s police action/dramas. :)

Hope this bit of info helps.
