Well, but you can't expect to wield supreme executive power just 'cause some watery tart threw a sword at you!

Look — if I went ‘round — saying I was emperor — just cuz some moistened bink lodged a scimitar at me, they’d put me away!

Why do people quote movies, if they're not going to quote them correctly? You can't just write whatever you THINK they said and then be done with it. It's not good enough, and it disrespects the movie you're trying (but failing) to quote!

According to some website I found after about 5 seconds of searching:

"Arthur: The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering silmite
held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water, signifying by divine
providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur.

THAT is why I am your king!

Dennis: Listen, strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government!

Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony!

Dennis: Oh, but you can't expect to wield supreme executive power just
because some watery tart threw a sword at you!

Dennis: How about if I went around saying I was an Emperor, just because some
moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!"

(Even that website's quotes had errors and mistakes I had to correct by listening to what they actually say in the movie)

Now do you see how WRONG your version is? Please correct it or live in embarrassment for the rest of your life.

P.s. LODGED a scimitar? REALLY?? Do you even understand what the word 'lodge' means?

Definitions of "Lodge":

- a small, makeshift or crude shelter or habitation, as of boughs, poles, skins, earth, or rough boards; cabin or hut

- to provide temporary quarters for The refugees need to be lodged and fed

- to rent lodgings to hoped that they would lodge him for the winter
- to establish or settle in a place The troops lodged themselves in the town
- to serve as a receptacle for : contain a sinus lodging the nerve and artery of the part
- to beat (a crop) flat to the ground

HOW exactly does anyone 'lodge' a scimitar at you? Please explain.
