LBJ, the man who isn't there


I can only guess that is a measure of the disdain, or perhaps even hatred, that people must have had for Lyndon Johnson that he appears nowhere in this dramatization. He had to be around somewhere.

It was no secret that RFK hated his guts with a passion, as did many others, but I think RFK mentions him in his book, "Thirteen Days." Somebody who has read the book please verify.

Of course Bobby had been dead for over five years before this production was released. So it is a question, why the scriptwriters of "Missiles" made Johnson disappear.

Not that I mind. Lyndon Johnson was one of the most monstrous characters in American history.

Maybe they just decided that no way can this hyena appear in what is supposed to be an homage to the best and the brightest.
