Whose brilliant idea was it to shoot it on videotape


WIth all the closeups, it looks crappy, like a daytime soap opera. Bad call.

The video tape on DVD hasn't held up as well as it should, but it doesn't bother me too much. The video look, lighting and closeups give it a real 'you are there' atmosphere in my view.

1974 TV movie, it was the norm.

No, it wasn't. Most Movies-of-the-Week were shot on 35 mm film. Nearly all, in fact.

I think color videotape is quite suitable for this kind of docudrama. It has a clear, realistic look which brings me into the story in a way that film does not.
