Is this the film that was shown on local TV channels in Los Angeles, usually on Christmas Eve? Something about the actual events taking place on Christmas Eve perhaps? I seem to remember vividly a scene where the girl must remove leeches form her skin! EWWWW!

This was the mid-70's so I was about 7 or 8 years old.
Yep, i'll never forget the 'leech' scene..it grossed me out!
Still, I thought it was an interesting movie overall and wonder why they have never shown it on tv since then.
I too remember watching this on Xmas Eve in the '70s. I remember the scene too but they were Bot flies not leeches. Look up 'bot fly removal' on g00gle and you will be grossed out all over again!

I remember seeing this movie as well back in the '70s and never forgot it. I also remember it took place around Christmas because when the plane crashed there was Christmas gifts scattered in the mud around the wreckage.
