One thing I never understood

Why the hell did Hip leave Bond? There was more than enough time for Bond to make it to the passenger seat.

Plot hole

Ok I think I might actually agree with you. Now tell me how it’s not a plot hole like I know you will

reply

A character error or flaw in their judgement is not a plot hole

See what did I tell you

Instead of running following one of the girls into the car, James Bond runs to the other side of the car. Probably because he's a gentleman and instinctively doesn't get in the same side as a lady as to not shove her out of the way.

As soon as Hip hears the doors slam, he guns the car assuming everyone is inside. By the time the girls yell at him that he's inside, the bad guys have already caught up and James is off on his own.

The girls were telling Hip that Bond wasn’t in the car, all he had to do was stop for a couple of seconds and wait for him to get in. I realize they just wanted a boat chase to happen but the characters had to act illogically for it to happen which is a huge problem

Yes it was timed badly ... Watching these Roger Moore movies again you realize how less tight action scenes used to be. As in, it was far more obvious characters were reacting in a way because they're in a movie.
