How come the DVD of the film is so scarce???

I'm assuming the film version on dvd, which can be found on Amazon and eBay was only on release for a short while, hence the silly prices out there.
I find it hard to believe the demand isn't there for a fresh re-release with new packaging, which would effortlessly improve on the drab style of the original dvd release (2001).

There is a re-release. I own it.

Having watched the film yesterday on ITV3(in the UK) I can confrim that the film has now been cut of the scene involving the 'Love Thy Neighbour' cast. I'm assuming this is because they are scared of 'offending' people, and this may well also be one of the reasons it's being left out of print on DVD now. Hence it fetching silly money.

The film has been reissued on DVD by Madman in Australia. As part of their Britannia Collection range. The disc is NOT region 4 encoded [is all region] and plays in both my DVD players [one machine is all region, the other is R2 only]

It comes with a very extensive photo gallery, music and effects track plus the trailer and is in the correct aspect ratio [16:9]. It's UNCUT. The Love Thy Neighbour scene is fully intact.

I got mine from Ebay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291522308466
£8.99 plus free international postage.
