Opening Credit Sequence - WOW!

From the terrific music by Jerry Herman to the black & white machine guns; it was fantastic. Probably my favorite opening credits for any movie I've seen.

MAME does have a glorious opening sequence, thanks to someone dipping into the Warner Bros. vaults - who'd have imagined Lionel Atwill and MYSTERY OF THE WAX MUSEUM make such a guest appearance 41 years after the original release?

One of the best opening credit sequences of any movie ever!

Vincent Canby in the New York Times wrote (referring the excellent opening credits): They are "so good they could be a separate subject."

I love how 'St. Brigette' is inserted into the credits and that great shot of Gooch and Patrick at Penn Station.

As do I. Because it made the opening more than just an opening. The lyrics of that song actually advanced the story, and even clarified it. While the images showed us some of the context of Mame's world.

I am the movies I love! (^_^)

I too, thought the opening credit montage was excellent. And how neat it was the way Ito was shown walking down the grand staircase...that just blended in so nicely.
