who remembers the haunted house in Bastrop? this is it!

When I was growing up, my Grandparents ran the W.W. Moore Brahma cattle ranch in Bastrop. They moved in 1971. This movie was filmed in and around that property. Did not enjoy the movie, but, wow, seeing the home I grew up in during summers, holidays, etc. was really cool. As an adult, I learned this was at one time the local teen hang- out, dare- you- to go in 'haunted house.' This was sometime after the filming of the movie. As I understand, a second movie (not related to this one) was to be filmed there. I don't know the details, but the house supposedly burned down. I heard it was part of the script, but have no idea whatsoever if this is true. Tahitian Village subdivision now stands in the approximate area. Anyone remember details/ history on any of this? Very curious to find out!!
