Elmo Wright dance

First touchdown pass for the Mean Machine and the reciever does the Elmo Wright touchdown dance.

Do you kids who love the remake know who that was?

All I hear are crickets.

I was a big fan of KC back in the days of Elmo Wright, Ed Podolak, Len Dawson, etc. That Christmas Day 1971, 2-OT playoff game against the up-and-coming Dolphins still stings to this day.

Willie Lanier, Mo Stroud, Otis Taylor, Johnny freakin' Robinson, it's all coming back to me now. Wherever in the basement my electric football set is, the Chiefs are still painted with these guys numbers!

Yes I indeed do remember the Elmo Wright dance. I was 5 yrs old thats why I wanted to grow up to be a wide receiver.Sadly I just caught one pass for 3 yards in a junior high game.I still remember that loss to the dolphins in 71.It devastated the franchise. The next the dolphins broke in arrowhead stadium by thrashing the chiefs 20 10 and it was worse than the score would indicate. The Cheifs and Elmo dropped of the face of the earth after that

I also remember the Christmas Day overtime game vs the Dolphins. I thought it was 3 over times. Don't forget the Championship with Hank Stram as coach. The Chiefs have come close but never to the heights of those years. If you're interested check out how many members of that team have been elected to the NFL hall of fame, there are many.
