Bernadette Peters

For a film with only two women in the cast, Bernadette Peters is a real stand-out in her two brief scenes, which are as hilarious as her hair is high.

I love her! The camera angles on her were great too. Too bad her part was so small.

reply

Indeed. Bernadette's a real standout (and knockout) here. I do wish she had a larger role, but this being a movie about men in prison, I guess that's what we get.

reply

Yes she was great in the film all right! In the remake I did not care for Cloris Leachman playing Bernadette Peters role. It is a shame that they did not contact her to make an appearance in the remake still there working in the prison.

Yes she did stand out all right in this film. I thought that I recognized her, but she looked awfully different with a blond wig though.

Yes, she looked different in the wig, but the voice gave her away! I thought Bernadette was destined for superstardom in the '70s, but she made her mark with smaller roles and on Broadway.

reply

Yes I think she could have had super stardom all right had she done some big films to help her out, but like you said she made her mark by doing smaller roles and going onto Broadway.

I would have bumped it up another ½-star if I had gotten to see more of her (if you know what I mean).

Wig? What wig?

reply

I wish I was there instead of Burt.

With Peters not in prison!

It's that man again!!
